PAINTED PONY - the Oldest Weekly Rodeo in the U.S.A.

My name is Shawn Graham and I am the owner and producer of this facility. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to "Where the Pavement Ends and the West Begins." The contestants that you will see are real cowboys and cowgirls competing for prize money and championship titles. They will travel thousands of miles up and down the road this summer just to live the Cowboy Life. For this we thank them for taking the time to stop here at the United States Oldest Weekly Rodeo - The Painted Pony!

During the American Final Rodeo in Harrisburg, PA in November 2000, I was a contestant in the Saddle Bronc Riding Event. A wreck occurred during my performance. I suffered from a broken neck due to this incident. My cowboy life was put on hold. I then flew to Dallas, TX and underwent surgery. I was given a second chance at life. This left me only one option to stay in the sport that I truly loved the most - RODEO! I purchased the ranch from a longtime friend, Jack McQue. Without his help and trust in me, this would never have become a dream come true.

As a child, I grew up being known as one of the "Rodeo Kids." My mother was a barrel racer and my father was a steer wrestler. He was also one of the original Rodeo Clowns here at the Pony. Kind of ironic, huh? I cannot thank everyone enough for the support throughout the last couple of years. Without all the help from family, friends, sponsors and especially my wife, Shana, this great show would not have been possible.
