Western Rodeo
Rodeo schedule for 2007 June 6-7: Americade Rodeo: 7:30 pm - no BBQ to public, rodeo only
June 29th: Regular season starts As the sun begins to set behind the Adirondack Mountains, that's when things heat up at the Painted Pony Rodeo. Your evening begins at 6:00 P.M. with the Painted Pony's world famous Texas Style BBQ. You will enjoy generous portions of top-quality chicken and pork ribs slowly smoked on the premises since early morning for the best tasting meat in the North Country. But y'all know a cowboy can't live on meat alone. Your chicken and ribs are accompanied by a fresh garden salad, ziti, beans, coleslaw, and strawberry shortcake — all the fixin's for a genuine Texas Style BBQ feast. After the BBQ, mosey on over to the oldest continuous weekly rodeo started in 1953 by Don "Wild Horse" Baxter. In the rodeo arena, capture the excitement of bareback, saddle bronc, and bull riding. Hold on to your cowboy hats during the team roping, calf roping, and steer wrestling, and as the ladies race against the clock in the barrel racing contest.
